WITH NO CONCESSIONS, NO EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES
As simple as that, with no concessions, no extenuating circumstances and no throwing in the towel. In all countries murder is illegal. How then can it be possible that the murder of a single person is forbidden, and yet it is permissible to kill thousands and millions of people? As much as the above declaration may seem an impossible and unthinkable mission, and although we may feel certain that it is unachievable and maybe impractical to monitor, this only reflects of how immersed we are in our own stupidity.
WHAT JUSTIFIES DEATH?
Show me an animal that kills its own species but not in order to eat it?
Show me an animal that denies itself the means of living and prospering and instead invests in armor for horrible killing? Do reasons such as ideology, religion or honor really justify the plight of widows and orphans?
ACHIEVE ANOTHER ACHIEVEMENT
Why are humans, the most intelligent creatures on earth, having reached summits of art, technology and medicine, only able to resolve conflicts and disagreements by war? Many of our past social achievements seemed impossible before they were realized. So it was with the end of slavery; the eight hour work day; equality for women; mandatory education; the caring for the poor, etc. The time has come for another crucial achievement:
The end of wars!
UNITE IN A GLOBAL CALL FOR PEACE
Who would object to such a law? Only the weapons’ industry, but they are a negligent minority. There is plenty of time to consider questions such as how this law would be enforced, penalties for those who break it, and so on, but first let all of the inhabitants on the earth unite in a global call for peace: an end to killing and bereavement!!!
Please share this call with as many people from as many countries as possible.
Obviously, the signing of the document is only the initial part of the process. The goal is to create a critical mass of signatories in each country, giving rise to movements and parties who will exert pressure on governments. A pressure to deal with this matter and form links with other governments in order to create a global debate that will usher an end to war.
